Withcott's an interesting one to work in. You're right at the bottom of the Range, and that location really does affect how properties here handle power. When storms roll in off the Toowoomba Range — and they come through hard sometimes — properties along the Warrego Highway corridor can lose supply for hours. So a lot of homeowners out here have already had a taste of what that's like, and they're pretty switched on about wanting some backup capacity. That's a common conversation I have on jobs out this way.

The older timber homes catch people off guard. You pull up the floor or open a wall and you're looking at wiring that hasn't been touched in decades. It's not always unsafe, but it's often not set up for the way people live now — more appliances, more demands on the system.

Then there's the acreage side of things. Properties backing toward Tabletop Mountain area can have sheds, workshops, or granny flats sitting a long way from the main house. Those cable runs across rural-residential blocks are never straightforward, and the ground out here doesn't make digging any easier.
