What we see in Glenvale

Glenvale's an interesting one because you've got two very different worlds sitting next to each other. Drive through the newer estates off Greenwattle Street and it's all fresh renders, double garages, and solar panels going up on roofs that are barely a year old. Then head out toward the western edge and you're on acreage blocks with older homes that have been added to over the decades. The electrical situation changes completely depending on which driveway you pull into.

The new project homes keep me busy in ways people don't expect. A lot of owners move in and assume everything's been done properly because the house is brand new — and often it hasn't been. Builders are juggling dozens of sites at once, and things get missed or wired incorrectly. That's just the reality of volume construction.

The acreage properties out that way have their own story. You're often looking at wiring that's been extended piecemeal as sheds, workshops, and granny flats got added over the years. Nothing catastrophically wrong, just… patchy. Homeowners on those blocks usually don't realise how much has accumulated until they actually want to change something.
